Air con problem

I have had a quick search and cant seem to find anything so sorry if this has been asked before.

When i bought the car in feb the air con wasnt working, been to busy sorting out problems that were more important lol

When i put the air con on it does nothing, with old cars i can hear it kick in but i hear nothing at all, i dont hear any change in revs or anything, all i get is the light above the air con button come on lol.
Any ideas??

You need to see if any pressure in the system. This cant really be done without specialist tools.
If there is no pressure it means there is a leak and thats where it gets interesting.

compressor wont click if there is no refigarant in the system or if it to low.

Yep, first port of call is somewhere that can check the system integrity and diag the system pressure (like me for example). Then, if the lack of operation is due to a lack of R134a head off to the cheapest place for a re-gas/leak test. You can then judge if it is actually leaking or if the seals have just dried out allowing the gas to vacate. If its leaking, fix it up and go from there as it may just be the seals but it might also be something else like a pipe or component.

Agree with Mick totally, but in my friends case it was the condenser , it had a small hole in it.
