Can't really help but also interested, I'm in Maidstone and the place seems to be full of s**t garages that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

i *MAY* try DMS motorsport in Erith- was good on the EK9- they are jap specialists.

Giraffe geography fail. Kent!!

DMS are very popular with jap stuff, assume they could do it but might get a few weird looks taking the clio in lol!

Steve, what's wrong with Elite?

They're absolutely top, and one of the only places for miles that don't want to rape you in the ass cost wise and have proper hunter kit.

I used Elite on the Flamer- that did a crackerjack job- the flamer goes round bends on rails-

However I was slightly taken a back by the pricing- It was like £60 which I was happy with - then suddenly £120 after some adjustments :(

It's all about how YOU ask them to do it steve...

So, tracking is about £60 I think, then camber adjustment is about £25 per side per axle.

So, on my beamer, I did the following,

1 x tracking
1x front camber
1x back camber

I had two camber values that I was all happy with (1 rear at 2.25 and 1 front at 1.1)

So I just had the opposing sides matched to this.

If I wasn't being savvy it would have cost me 160, instead, £110 and I have a perfectly aligned car.

Normally, one value is half decent, so just stick with that if you see what I mean.

A few people have been to Blink Motorsport, I've not been myself but they quoted around £100 to do my 330ci.

There is also a good one in Bolton that I know people have been to, its called Nigel Langs.

FYI, this website has most of the garages that have Hunters equipment, very good site. Also a 5% discount voucher on there.

Here is the quote/info I had from Blink RE my 330ci

The price is £25+vat for the initial check and then we can talk through with you what needs doing. We then charge £50+vat/hour and reckon it would take an hour. We also need to plug in the Codelink device (part of the Hunter Aligner) which resets the Steering Angle Sensor so the traction control, etc. still works OK. Codelink is £10+vat.

So the total should be around £85+vat.

Most kwik-fit's are now equipped with Hunter's.
We have one in our centre and they are ace.
You will get a print out before and after adjustment has been done so you know if done properly aswell accurate to 1 minute to a degree.
Front toe adjustment is £44.95 i believe.
Rear adjustment is £20 i think.
Other adjustments are £20 or £25 i think not 100% sure.

:approve:

I've always strung my cars on level ground and used a camber guage. That's free and bloody accurate :)

  A special one.
I had mine set up at AMD in Lakeside, did a good job and where careful.

I used to use Elite and they where very good many years ago, my mate Keef used to work there and knew his stuff and a guy called H (H still does and both worked behind the counter)
I even used to take the Porsches to get them set up after crash repairs as well (about 13 years ago now though)

I took my Mk2 Golf GTI there for them to do the wheel aligment, they adjusted the tracking but wound the rack arms round and around which made the rack gators go tight. The next day i jacked the car up to find them both split ffs.
Took the Clio there when i 1st got it to check and adjust the tracking, drove the car home with the steering wheel on the piss (couldnt be bothered to take it back)

My neighbour had a Nissan 200sx which he took back 3 times for them to get it right.

DMS did mine a while back. The owner loved my Clio!
They were moving to Biggin Hill they were telling me.

Did it fine on my car, though quite expensive I thought for what is essentially just changing the toe.
Though they did say my camber was out as I'd lowered it, and if I got some camber bolts I could go back and they'd re do it.

Recently had it done at Kwik fit, not very impressed. Was £40 for alignment, + £20 for camber. Still doesn't feel right, steering wheel doesn't sit straight, but am out of the 30 day free check now.

Finding decent alignment places for a decent price is a real ball ache imo.
