Bmw personalised reg

My dad has a 7 series on contract hire with BMW and wants to purchase a private reg, but he seems to think that he will be unable to do so because the car is on hire.
The cars 9 months old and the contracts for 2 years, any one know if he's able to put a reg on?

Im sure its ok to put a priv reg on i saw it on a contract hire site i will try and find the site again

10. Can I put a personal number plate on the car?
There will normally not be a problem. Be careful with contract hire and any agreements where the vehicle is registered in the name of the finance company. Make sure that you have their agreement and their confirmation that they will transfer the number back to you at the end of the agreement.
