Brake clips

I dunno if I'm just being a dumb **** but what purpose do the rear brake clips serve the two p style ones, I get the purpose of of bottom retaining bar but the p clips do nothing apart from clip around the pads and u can still pull the pads out with them attached

If you've put them on correctly they do actually hold the pads in with a bit of resistance.

I don't see how though when they don't come into contact with the Caliper!

They do touch the caliper at the top, this tries to push the top out but the bit that hooks under the pad and the rest of the clip is under tension and is pushing back the opposite way.

Have you got pics of yours fitted?

I'm a spaz with anything car related (although I'm definitely learning and have learnt a hell of a lot over the past year or so) but I had to send the bottom pic to @dann2707 a few weeks ago as I was well confused at how the clips went back in 😂

That makes sense now cheers lol haha at the bottom picture lucky I took pictures of mine before taking them apart so I had a rough idea but I was trying to fit the clips before the retaining bar and couldn't get my head round it
