Hi All,

Well I've gone & got myself a 09 plate 197. 42K on the clock so I'm looking to get the Belts changed.

Im located in Stoke-On-Trent, can anyone recommend a garage in the staffordshire area?

Looks like I'll be traveling further from the Staffordshire area than expected. Only just started geting quotes but this is what ive got so far

Local Renault main dealer - £1017
Local renault approved - £850

Ive just had mine done at BTM and cost a lot less than youve been quoted........ And im over a 100 miles away............

If you're done waving willies we do the 197 belt change with new water pump for £430 using genuine kits.

Only in Nottingham no flash cars laying around in our workshop as we fix em and send em off

Just a quick question...

Why are you having it done so early? The interval is 72k or 5 years. You are way off both of those. Seems a waste of money to me. I've not read of a single failure on the 197's personally.

If you plan on keeping the car a couple of years you know you are goingto be paying out for a belt during that time so why not just get it out of the way now, he'll kick himself if he does have a failure cause he has waited.
I agree with you though that there is probably more paranoia than is required, but on the other hand if you are goign to track the car the belt sees a lot more strain due to the revs involved so should be done sooner.
