Camera Batteries

Whats the view on non OEM camera batteries? Anyone use them? Last as long?

Want to get a spare for the dads camera, these are cheap as chips:

i personally wouldn't, i have had them in the past and they don't seem to hold their charge aswell in my experience.

I have Uniross ones for my D50, hold charge for as long as the Nkon battery easily, and about 1/5 of the price!

Yep they all seem to be pretty good in that respect now. I've hit 1200 shots before needing a change. I just carry 2 batteries for the same reason I carry 4 memory cards, paranoid incase something breaks.

Ironically the only thing to ever fail has been the D50, and I don't (yet) have a spare!
