Changing Clio 172 Seats - Advice Required Please!

  Clio 172
Hello,
I have just bought a 172 and both the drivers and passengers seats are worn (sport, half leather seats). I have sources and bought good condition front seats from a guy on here who had taken them out to turn his car into a track car. The seats had been sitting in his loft for years.
Is changing the seats over a job I could do myself or is it better to take then to a garage? What tools would I need and is it hard to connect the wired to link up the airbag wires? Could I keep the existing runners in and then just connect the new seats to those?
This is a common problem, so others must have done the swap, any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

It's an easy job mate.

4 nuts per seat, from under the car. Deep 13mm socket required.

There's a little rubber cap keeping the muck off the outer two bolts. Then the inner 2 are through a hole in the exhaust heatsheild.

Wiring is simple enough..

Is there a way of doing it without going under the car? Keeping the runners from my existing seats then just attaching the new ones to that, or is it all one unit? I haven't done anything like this before, so would need to get tools etc. I am new to this, but trying to save costs by attempting the swap myself.

It's possible from the inside, but twice as fiddly TBH.

You at least need a jack, axle stands and a socket set to swap the seats.

Find a local member on here and chuck them £20 TBH. Where you based?

@Kelv is near Gatwick.

I'm in Chertsey.

I'll swap a set of fronts for £20 one evening if you bring ti over...

Cheers Budgie, i don't work on other people's cars though! To much hassle if theres a thread stripped/cut wires e.t.c + I've got enough of my own s**t i can't be bothered to do!
