Clicking mileometer!

Ive got a Phase II 16v and ever since I bought it Ive noticed the mileometer clicks as I drive along, once the stereo is turned up Im happy but when its not its gets very annoying!

Has anyone ever heard of this before and if so, how did you cure it?

My RT does the same. I think its similar for a lot of mk1s, Dont know how to cure it tho.

mine does the same up to about 30 then goes away!

Mine too!! Not sure if ive read somewhere that it was the speedo cable??

Sounds like the speedo cable to me!

think it is the speedo cable, my car does it too, dont think you can do anything about it except squirt a big blob of grease in round the back of the speedo, a lot of hassle if it dont work though.
