colour coding,wherehow much

hi ive got a mk1 172 in blue and i have heard you can colour code the plastic side strips etc can anyone tell me where from and if so how much, any websites

cheers!

most decent bodyshops can do it. Reasonable enough price for a chap who can afford a 172. Around £200 for whole car colour coding so just the sidestrips should be lot cheaper

My paint cost £12 and primer same to be made at a specialist paint shop. Labour was about £35 iirc and that was just the strips down the side

Has anybody here ever heard of or used Bham Bodycraft? The thing is, Im considering having some colour coding done on my Clio RSi and was wondering if anybody could suggest some decent bodyshops for me to take the car into.

Get your paint code and get a can mixed up. Get some plastic primer and do em yourself. painting bits like thats easy. Youll probably need lacquer too on top. If u are any good at painting it will only cost u about £20 max for the stuff.

Ive just got a quote from a local body shop to colour code my 1.2

It consisted of painting:

Front and rear bumpers including fog light enclosures
Rear spoiler
Side strips
Wing mirror attachments

Paint and materials £85 + Vat
Labour cost £520 + Vat

Just over £600 + VAT! Seems quite steep to me!

Anyone else had all this done and have a price? Also forgot to ask about door handles...

Labour is always expensive - £600 seems about right.. quite cheap if ya ask me!

My rear spoiler, at one bodyshop, cost £160 to spray and fit..

Daz.

na mate, thats a rip off, the body shop i mentioned above charged me £440 and that was including a new front bumper + spraying, fully colour coded (front and rear bumpers + side stirps + handles) and tthey sorted out my tracking!! £600???? rip off

that seems pretty high mate, i paid a bit more than that and i got all my doors completly smoothed as well as what ur getting done

The guy was saying the price was high because the plastic is textured and so needs special preparation and primer so that paint sticks and wont flake off in a couple of months....

They were recommended by Ben j. He said they werent the cheapest but excellent quality. Ill try some other places and see what they quote. I guess you get what you pay for...?

Fred, what is the finish like on your bumpers? Can you tell the difference between that and the origial body paint work?

Nope, its a brilliant job, and im a fussy bugger!!!! You cant tell the palstic was ever textured, perfect colour match!!
