completely stumped.

  Clio 182
OK so I went for a little drive today and all seemed well when I stopped. When starting the car (Clio 182) again there was an awful sound as though the timing had slipped so I turned it off immediately. after a phone call and a lot of swearing I noticed that when looking down on the belts that the timing belt cover looks snapped and I could see the timing belt. after jiggling that around I decided to try her again. it started fine but there is a strange rattle on idle. also when driving under 2000rpm it sounds like something is loose there is a very tinny vibration. there is no loss of power and after 2000rpm the vibration noise goes away and all is well? If anyone could give me some advice it would be more than helpful.

Cheers Matt
