Lovely, that makes me feel better, thanks Tim.

Can't wait to finally get the spoiler fitted too! My mates spray compressor jacked in last week or I would have had it on today. Should be done by the start of next week.

I was just wondering about your spoiler. Didn't you have a v6 rep on it at some stage mate?

Used it when I went xmas shopping on saturday and it's awesome. Such a handy accessory.

I then received this through from @NorthloopCup, it's an extended accelerator pedal for heel and toeing. I've tried it in the past on this car and with my stupidly small sized 7's it just isn't going to happen. Hopefully this will improve things :D

Yeah mate! It's currently being sprayed by my biking mate at his spray shop however last week his compressor packed in completely. It is primed though ready for paint! The washer blanks have been sprayed though.

Diane wants your body!

I would love to disappoint her for 4 minutes!!

She does sound like she'd be the sexy office type with a name like Diane.

And received two of these! They look weak as f**k so I'm thinking of filling the holes with tigerseal to stiffen the f**k out of it?

Tigerseal or an old socket with a zip tie.
When are you going to get a proper exhaust anyway? You've owned it over a month, so you have maybe another month before the Renault one rots through anyway...

I tigersealed mine up, been fine for neally a year with no splits.

Did it on my old 182 (both mounts) and was fine again for an even longer amount of time. If you can measure the gaps I can always cut you some thick gauge metal "rings" to wedge in the lower mounts to "solid" it?

oh and pro tip : when removing your old exhaust mounts wear some glasses as you end up getting rust in your eyes if you aren't careful. I had crap in my eyes for days after ha ha

I got 22mm and 15mm copper pipe squashed it and fitted it in the holes in the rubber! And cable tied them in place!

Tigerseal will do the job then! I'm not sure, not a fan of the standard one as it's too quiet but £400 is a lot. Going to start saving for a house with the Mrs soon so might start being careful with the mods. Famous last words though haha.

Thanks for the offer mate, that's very kind of you! I've got some tigerseal in the garage so might just go down that route.

I hope there not your H&M kids joggers that are grubby?

They are actually! I haven't washed them in a week because i'm a right scrubber :p haha

Got sent these pics of the spoiler tonight! It's looking fooking sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

Want I meant was wedge the tube in there and tigerseal them in and all over the mount.

I used some think wall fuel pipe and wedged it it the gaps, works really well because it still flexes!

Tbd I rolled up some card and wedged it in there both sides so it was tight then tigersealed it up.

Keep your old exhaust mounts so you can do this for next time

The problem with those mounts is that they have a tendency to crack.

Spoiler looking good  Mind me asking how much you paid for it to be sprayed?

Some other nice mods going on as well.

Racing ahead now.

I think that's mates rates though as it would definitely cost a lot more than £10 to spray the washer blanks. Should be picking them up this saturday if all is well.

Just to confirm that spoiler will fit a non cup 172 with NO modifications? I may have to get one next month. Spray it myself :)

Yep! You might have to drill or enlarge a hole depending on the quality when you receive it but other than that, the tailgates are the same :)

Good luck with spraying yourself ;) GRP is an absolute bast to spray. With it being such a massive part of the car too, i'm really glad i'm having it done professionally.

I think I'll give it a go and if I really fluff it up I'll do what you did! Im already eyeing up my next spray job....the door pull surround thing..the little strip just above the actually "pull" part :)

I will do tomorrow.

Front left strut still seems to be making a racket when turning the wheel. Twonnng twongggg! It's concerning!

Spacers went on easily though, I couldn't believe how light they were when I picked them up.

Rip wheel bearing soon though I reckon!

Wonder if your top bearings are okay? Like I said mine did it for a day or two when my bearings were new and very tight but free'd off in no time!

I'll have to remove the strut and have a gander at the weekend.

Here is a horribly blurry photo for now. I think I need to go lower though

And i've just done a full circle and my SERV and abs light has come on. I'm thinking i've snagged the abs cable as i've realised in my stupidity that I forgot to put the ABS holder from my old struts on the new ones!! ARGHHHH Hope it's just pulled out the plug and not damaged anything.
