Inside panel not done yet as going to remove the glue and tar first before painting.

Looks good that Dan.. I'm going to tackle mine at the weekend if it's sunny. I'll go B&Q on Friday for some bits, just wondering what to buy.. how much paint did you use? and is it just brushed on? did you do any prep work other than cleaning the inside like give it a key or anything?

Going to paint it Black inside and with mine being a Black Gold I'm hoping I'll get away with just one coat... Unless it looks gash then I'll give it another.

Thank you mate!
I bought one tin of the gloss "one coat" satin from B&Q and it's 0.75L. I've used half a tin but I assume that will be because it's the first coat and I assume the second won't be as thick.

I just used a brush yeah, they were selling a 3 pack for £2.50 by the till so got them. I just cleaned it after de-tarring, with all purpose anti bacterial cleaner and let that dry over night and painted that day (today).

I think you'll definitely require two coats though if i'm honest.

Probably a stupid question Dan, but if you put all the interior back in, you wouldn't see any of the painted bits would you?

I'd assume so, just double checking!
Really good question actually! I'm not too sure you know, maybe the lip where the tailgate goes, I reckon that would be visible. i'd have to get some pics of how mine was before and compare. Hows the gearstick going?

Loving the paint Dan. Looks bloody lovely!

Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

@dann2707 Lmao :smile:
Cars looking good mate the colour is great I bet it will last better than white. What colour is it ?

It's called Shadow, it's by B&Q in their gloss satin range. You'll find it in the dark area of the shop hehe

This looks awesome!

This is properly fit

Looking and liking homeboy!!

Thank you very much lovely people! I had a look at it this morning on my way to work and you can sort of see the brush strokes but i'm hoping that will be levelled out with the second coat.

If anyone is looking at doing theirs soon I recommend doing the rear sides first, then roof, then rear near the bootlock, then the rear flat panel, then the front sides, then the front floor pan. If you do it in that order you don't trap yourself in the car!

You could always flatten out the brush marks with some wet and dry then just add polish/lacquer? That way it'll all be smooth and protected.

Or buy a colour match spray and give it a top coat once it's flattened out.

Well, finished putting everything back in. Got ALOT of work to do, well it's not a lot but it's loads of little finishing touches that are going to add up but it's all cool. It's mainly finishing painting bits i've missed, tidying looms away, removing more glue, painting the inner skin, painting the tailgate, wrapping every loom that is visible in self amalgamating tape which i've got.

But all this s**t can wait until we're back from the lakes and Wales on our roadtrip!

Got a load of those sticky cable tie pads which are a f**king god send, so simple and make everything look neat and sexy as balls.

In the next few months i'm going to be stripping most things out for the dash, fitting my new heater, blower and removing more sound deadening.

Can't wait for this trip though, will have a million and one photos after.

@dann2707 looks spot on this mate you should be really happy with it :)
Can I make a suggestion where you have your feet (both sides) I have fitted rubber floor mats they are light and look smart. What they have done is stop scratching the floor and it keeps clean :) saves you keep painting the floor all the time

that looks really smart mate! im thinking of doing the same for interior paint as paying to have a track car sprayed just seems like a waste of money tbh. did you do any sanding other than the cleaning or just go for it?

Well... 54 pages later and I finally got to the end, I was just looking at pictures past 43 or something but still looked great, love how its come along and almost cried when the wheel nuts came off 😢 Car looks amazing bud so much work gone into it, I want a set of them RS-182 stickers!
where can I get them from? Looking forward to seeing more update on this now I'm up to speed with it. Phase 1 lights look great on it as well

Thank you very much mate, appreciate that. Glad you like the wheels :)

Wow thank you for that! How long did it take you to read it?

I got them from someone on Facebook on csoc. There are some other generic ones but the 1 on them looks grim and too big. Better when it's smaller imo

Yeah will be next on my list at some point! Either grip tape or a bit of carbon fibre.

It took me two sessions at it, I got to like page 35 and then had to et ready for work and then continued when I got in from work in the morning, worth it though, I think I found some on eBay, they look decent quality so might get a set of them, cheers bud

I did find sleeping in the tent tedious after a bit though as I didn't sleep well which doesn't go down for setting you up for the following day of driving a lot! Because I cut mine in the engine bay and replaced the pipes and ran turbo blanks where the pipes go into the heater matrix

I can do mate, I guess i'm going to have to to get them on the race heater as those connectors are tiny! Do you have a link to where you go them from? I need to look under the bonnet and figure a length required / how easy it will be :)
