DCI100 vs. 172

Insurance is up for renewal start of October.

Im 23

5 years no claims

6 years driving

No accidents

3 points for an MW10 (crossing some hatch marking on the motorway on December 23rd, of course they were gunna give me points)

Have done a few searches on the comparison sites and a few independents...

Cheapest I got for the DCI was £515!!

I then checked a 172 out as I was thinking of changing anyway..

£630..

Cannot believe that small difference but also the huge price of the DCI...

Insurance last year on my S reg 2.0D Nissan Primera was £550.

Any suggestions / thoughts?

£630 on the 172 doesnt sound bad at 23. If you cover less than 7500 miles a year (we give a discount for lower miles) i could be able to get you a lower quote...Plus our policy allows modifications and the option for track cover if you needed.
