Coolant sensor, I gave you a few last year lol

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

I dont think it is getting hot, when ive run it and watched it spike Id imagine the coolant to be bubbling and boiling but its not.
Ive changed the coolant sensor and thermostat already.

Use a brand new coolant sensor, its cheap.

Immobiliser light is more one of MicKPMs specialist subjects but have a search of his posts on it and you'll find the answer.

Should of mentioned, I then purchased one after trying the one Danny gave me lol

There is only one sensor, correct?

Correct. Maybe worth bleeding the system....

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

I rebled it when changing the thermostat, then when changing the coolant hoses and radiator (polo rad and we know that keeps it cool enough as it worked on my 421'd car amd your supercharged slut lol) Oh and the reason for the standard rad going it was leaking!

Not saying I bled it word by word to how that says, but I did it the same way Ive always done it lol.

Think tomorrow after work im just going to run it with a hose in the expansion tank and see if any s**t comes out. Maybe its got a build up of s**t or something somehow?

Get it running and warm and squeeze the s**t out of the top big hose!

I'm in a non Clio mood at the moment!

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

Update.

Starting issue- Changed decoder ring as I found one in the garage after ordering a spare, no difference. Imoboliser light flashing at fast rate and wont let car start, this happening ever other time I try to use the car.

I did read that someone has the same issue with crank sensor, now I know all signs are pointing towards imobiliser but I think I might change it anyway as I have several and its just another thing tried.

Think im going to bite the bullet and have it put on clip.

Getting hot issue - Rebled the system as DannyR suggested so will keep an eye on it and see if it has helped.

Somehow I dont want to break the car into many small pieces like I usually do anytime something goes wrong!

If you break it I break you!

You got a spare good battery you can try for the starting issue?

  Many.
Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

Fill up your car, drive to mine one evening/weekend sometime.

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

Ill fix it, shoudl be simple Tom!

So when I lock my car it beeps once, when I unlock it beeps twice. whats this s**t all about? lol

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

No breaking this one.

Beeps is alarm no? Doors shut properly?

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

Im unsure what the beeps is being caused by but it is the alarm I think , Im driving it to work tomorrow so Ill figure it out then lol

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

I havent done much to this, but ill bring the thread upto speed.

Replaced the brake light on the cup spoiler & added a CS sticker.

Then using parts I had from previous clio I moved the battery into the boot, purely for something to do.
IMG_4338.jpg

I upgraded the wire on what I previously used. (these are off cuts that i stripped back, Im not that careless/messy!) The wire certainly helps it start better.
IMG_4339.jpg

Then I got this from @AlexW and gave it a lick of paint.
IMG_4341.jpg

Finally the aircon removal is complete lol
IMG_4343.jpg

I also changed the filter setup once again.

What my car looks like after 6 weeks of not being cleaned.

Need to get a new key programmed and that should resolve the starting issue, fingers crossed!
Need to change the water pump as I dont think its actually working.
Wash it before CSS.

And much more!

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

I would say its looking good, but its actually dirtier than I am.

I hate seeing those aircon pipes sticking out of those bulkhead panels, That looks much better.

Not as dirty as the coolant, the bottle is clean but it seems to be pushing some dirty s**t about in there. Unsure where its coming from :S

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

I think we need to sort a date/weekend(?) for the dash and coolant issues, get the pump changed and flush it all through.

Car needs loving before you break it.

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

Cocked that up, don't think I cleaned the old gasket off completely & it leaked.

Before CSS,

re-fit water pump & another new gasket
fill with fuel

& if I get time wash 6/7 weeks of dirt of it.

Re: dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg

So last Friday night I re-fitted the water pump, actually a really easy job on a ph1 with out aircon! In the process I managed to knock off the break resivoir so after fighting with that I ended up washing my car with the help of @hiben1 in the dark basically.

And with that the next morning we headed to CSS.

Needless to say the car was still filthy and I missed an entire door when washing it, luckily just outside the location of CSS was a car wash.

Then tonight @Alex W was supposed to be coming round to re-program a key and try help me find out why my car still likes to say its hot, see this thread for more details http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?755446-Temperature-gauge-rapidly-changing

Anyway Alex got caught up at work and as I had set aside the night for car stuff I decided to swap the dash for the ph2 one.

No sweat

& done

IMG_4596.jpg

Still to do,
Wire in Hazard switch
Wire in door lock button
Make the cup holder bit fit (air bag ecu in way)
Swap clocks back to proper ones (running a set on 91k from an old car to check the clocks work, they do!)
Program Key
Turn air bag light off (dash air bag removed)
Fit ph2 A-pillar trims, they are different it seems and I have thrown my ph2 set away.
Finally work out why my car says its getting hot
Fix dash top in properly.

TBH I need @Alex W for most of those jobs with his CLip, but still it looks pretty even if some of it doesnt work.

You don't hang about!!

As we said on Saturday, the Ph2 rear lights look better combined with your Ph2 boot.
