Does the 172 boot have a solid piece under the carpets?

it seems strange to me that the carpet in my 172 just sits intop of the spare wheel, under the carpet it has some sort of insulating foam but there is no solid piece of wood that sits over the wheel like all my other cars have had.

Just wanted to know if everyone elses are like this or am i missing a piece from mine?

I want to fit a sub to the boot and this makes it harder as the floor is uneven

They don't have anything under there. It should just be the spare wheel with the foam insert with the tools moulded in.

Same here..it seemed a little strange to me too when I bought it, with the floor bended a bit around the spare wheel. It leaves a lot of space in the boot this way!
