Fault codes

  renault clio 172
Hi there
Recently got a clio 172, posted an earlier thread about HID lights which I sorted. However she's now developed a fault, went into limp mode. Warning lamp like a heartbeat comes and goes and she feels like she's running on 3 cylinders but isn't if you follow me and well down on power. Anyway got a code reader and got these codes. P0500, P0203,P0120,P0711 and B0500, I know i can look them up but thought someone might be able to pinpoint where to look and what to fix, change or renew.
Thanks in advance
Shaun

quick google shows lots of different sensors are throwing errors so if i were you i would bring it to an auto electrician. its going to be an earth or some broken wires somewhere.

P0203 is the injector 3 circuit, and it is probably correct that the injector needs replacing. Swap a couple around to prove it. No 1 is the gearbox end as it`s a Renault.

P00500 is the speedo drive box 7700418919 if it has a JC5-129 gearbox. £7.50 from eBay. Has the speedo dropped out from time to time?

P0120 is the Throttle position switch circuit A, this combined with P0711, an automatic box fault, & B0500, which is a bit of a joker are probably indicative of poor electrical connections in the engine bay wiring loom, usually in the block connectors.

Clear the codes down if you can, and see what comes back.

cleared the codes. P0711 and B0500 came back. Im not altogether trusting of the code reader which seems to struggle to link. The other thing which has been bothering me is because the car had some water in the engine bay i sprayed liberally with WD40 and that coincided withe the bad running. Just been out to the car now and started her and she's lumpy and when accelerating, down on power. I might have to bite the bullet and take her in somewhere. The problem is my son who had 2 clio's, a liquid yellow 182 and a very special black 182 he upgraded to full Trophy spec has moved on, has a Lotus and a Alfa 147 3.2 now. He got this car from a tuning specialist for next to nothing to run around in when his Lotus was off the road. He gave it to me for nothing, and as my no claims expired some years ago as I only drive a van now, I thought perhaps its passed me bye, 58 now with a long history of hot hatches, love them !! Whilst a great car I don't know if I've the inclination to throw money at her and bothered with all this bloody sensor nonsense. Ill make a decision at the weekend probably wether to persevere or sell/scrap her.

It`s got a few common minor faults, don`t even think about scraping it.

Take it here, it will not cost much to get sorted.
