Firefox locking up

Getting really annoyed with this at the moment.

Basically it will be fine but then all of a sudden the CPU goes nuts and the fan kicks in and cpu goes up to 100%...cant do anything on the computer and even ctrl,alt,del takes ages to load to be able to end the process

Also after shutting it down realplayer appears in teh task manager up at 100% too

Then trying to start IE it does the same. Reboot and things are ok for a little while

Any ideas?

Errr 3.0.11 according to the "help About" bit

Uninstall and upgrade would be the 1st step.

Did that last night so will see how it goes..so far soo good.
