Gear lever gaitor woes, read on amigos...

Basically, one of the two little plastic tangs has snapped off my gear lever gaitor so it just flops about n the air at the moment, I went to Renault today to get a new one and was told the part was discontinued and if i wanted one it had to be the updated part. No problem, i hear you all say, until the bloke brings the updated part round and its an entirely different colour to my current one. My question is, does anyone know anywhere that might stock the original one? Its for a 172 Cup, a sorta mid- grey colour, the one the bloke tried to fob me off with was dark grey, almost black.

The part can't be discontinued, the car isnt over 5 years old is it :s

nope, its registered august 1st, 2003.

well as far as i was aware a company had to make all parts of a car up to five years after last sale.
