How much camber?

  BMW E36 328i Sport
Got some camber bolts waiting to go on but not sure on what degrees they should be adjusted to for a "fast road" set up. Seen alot of people saying -1.5 but is this an additional -1.5 to whatever the standard degrees is or is it -1.5 overall?

Thanks

Personally I run -1.6 and do quite a lot of road miles, tyres still wear evenly and car handles great on track...

Yeah I talked to the garage that's fitting them and he said -1.5 is ok and it won't shred tyres. He showed me what it looked like on a fiesta rally car and it doesn't look noticeable but I'm sure it will handle well.

With too much you'll wheelspin more, and unless your car rolls like a barge, you wont get the full benefit of say, 3.0 degrees, as in the bends the tyre contact patch will still not be optimal. 1.5 - 2.0 Is fine. I try various amounts and see what it does, but if you don't have the know-how/kit to measure it then best stick with the garages settings.
