I think my gearbox has had it

hi I was in my clio 172 ph1 today,pulling around a corner in 2nd and put my foot down,herd a bit of a noise,driving down the road took my foot off the accelerator and it was making a clicking knocking noise quite loud,put my foot back on the accelerator then couldn't here the noise,it can only be herd when it's on overdrive I.e rolling or putting your foot on to the clutch to change gear,I can select all gears no problem and the power is still there

My mate jacked the car up and put it in 1st gear and let it drive and the gearbox was making a right noise

Guess it's the gearbox then! Take it to one of the specialists with a good reputation on here
