insurance and wheel colour changes

Going to get my wheels refurbed in white, just wondering the stance on the insurance as technicaly there std wheels, just a dif colour do i need to inform the insurance or not?

I asked my old insurance company (tesco) about this back when I considered doing it. They wanted an extra £40 on 6 months remaining policy, including the £15 administration fee but it added £100 to my volantary excess, making my total excess including compulsary £350!!!
You can probably guess what my answer was on the phone.
