Labour Cost to fit Cam Belt ???

Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay to fit a Cam Belt to my p2 172 ?

Already ordered the Kit £129, was I robbed ? Gates kit pulleys etc ...

Should've just booked it into Birchdown or BTM if I'm honest mate. Who you gonna get to do the belt?

If you're struggling to get it to Brum or can't get a day off to go to Birchdown, I know a good place in Burscough who did my belts on my ph1 once.

Not sure on labour. But as an idea, Fred did my ph1 for about £700 with the dephaser pulley. As for the price you paid for a Gates belt kit, it seems ok. You'll also need the aux kit too tho (unless that's included in your kit??) and MAYBE the dephaser pulley.
Think the labour must = approx £150 to £200 but not 100%.

It's called ERS (Engine Repair Specialists), its just as you go into Burscough as if you're coming from the Rainford bypass/Skem way. Next to WCF and after the BP garage. I'll find and PM you the number, is your dephaser rattling at all (sounding like a diesel) cos if it gets noisy after you've done the belts you'll need to do the belts again to replace it!

Yeah it does sound a bit "John Deere" so I guess the dephaser is also now on the menu. Like you say it's better to get it done now rather than pay double in the future .

Add another £170 on for that dude Worth it though. Mine was WRECKED on this one when I bought it!#

I'm not sure about birchdown or BTM but i know alot of traders really dislike fitting cam belts that they have not ordered there selfs , and if they do they may not give you warranty , Not sayin they won't but jus thought i would give ya a heads up mate , i had cambelt ,aux belt , dephaser done by diamond motors (trader on here) it was around £600 , think the labour was £170 ish

Cambelt on a clio sport is a 5.2 hour job, check what labour rate the garage is charging and you can work it out from there.
Most garages won't fit parts not supplied by them as they offer warranty based on the fact that their suppliers warranty the parts supplied and will pay the garage for doing the job again if the parts were to fail in any way. If you supply your own parts can lead to a legal minefield if something went wrong as you would have to prove it was down to poor fitment or if it was parts failure.
Cambelt kit supplied and fitted £468 from me (serviceyourcar.co. uk ltd) job is done with renault genuine tools etc.
dephaser is about £150 or so on top if required although recommended as if it aint gone its probably gonna!
Breakdown of that is £260 labour, £130 belt kit, £78 vat.
Anyone doing it for much less than that is either in need of the money or isnt charging enough!
That should give you an idea of what you should be paying anyhows.

that's not a good deal to be honest. A genuine belt kit is £125, £13 for plugs £72 for an aux belt kit (full kit is a must) and I charge £450 all in.
