Latest Pics of the Williams

  Turbo'd lude, Astra
Thought I would take advantage of the nice weather yesterday, gave the car a quick wash and polish then went off for a drive to the coast!

Fitted the Foglights yesterday and also the centre caps! Just need to order a new bonnet from renault, get the wheels refurbed (still can't decide on gold or white) and then give the car a good pc!

All comments welcome!! :)

Yep, deffo go for gold wheels (for the nice & standard look) It looks a bit high at the front in a few of the pics, what suspensions it got on it ?

Nice looking car though & there aren't many around anymore.

Its currently on standard suspension, am thinking about getting 172 cup springs, just to make thefront a tiny bit lower!

I'm swaying towards gold too, white is different but my heart says oem!

  Golf GTI PP Mk7
mine is on cup springs at the front, makes it look far better:

Cup springs make no cosmetical difference.

They sit 3mm shorter than std Williams/172 springs.

I doubt you have std williams springs on tbh.

I had some white williams alloys on mine for a while, do look good but prefer gold.

Gold Wheels and a Little Bit Lower Laura and then just enjoy it, Lovely car

Its a rally homologation car, if anything raise it up. Lowering is for circuit cars and boy racers.

what? its nothing to do with homoligation at all. The williams was built to commemorate mansells 1993 F1 drivers champ win.

No the williams 'name' was given to it to commemorate the F1 ties as an after thought. The actual car was built to allow Renault to compete in the French rally championship with a 2 litre car. As they had no suitable production car with a 2 litre engine, they had to build one, then homologate it with the FIA by selling at least 2500 road going versions. 400 in the uk, the rest around the world, mostly in France.

The williams was built purely to allow Renault to rally it. Hence they built and engine specifically for the car. Its a rally homologation car, first and foremost. The gold badge is a gimmick.

The williams 2 and 3 were built purely as a marketing exercise to make money and were watered down a 'bit' (the 3 mainly). As were subsequent Escort Cosworth following the original homologated car (with smaller turbo and different engine management).
