Leaking gearbox

Hi,

Unfortunately my 1st post is about my gearbox on my 172 cup which as developed an oil leak, it started a few weeks ago.


A local garage as had a look for me and he said its definitely the gear box but he would have to remove the box before he could find the root cause, this would obviously cost me a fair bit of money and then I could end up having to fork out for a recon box clutch etc.

I know I am stabbing in the dark asking this but could it be as easy as a seal gone inside etc.

The gears feel fine at the moment as does the clutch.

any advice would be very helpful.

Common faults lay around the ns driveshaft as this hold the gearbox oil and also the gear selector input shaft.
Both fairly easy fixes I guess. Check these two first!
