Sorry if this is a daft question, i’m a novice. Are you not refitting the reserve fuel tank? Is it a straight forward don’t put it back on and bung everything up? I’ve stripped my 5 down and when building back up I wasn’t going to refit. Also do the fuel senders fit each other’s tanks on mk1 Clio’s to R5’s?

Also which Wilwood brakes have you got and how do you rate them? We’re they easy to adapt to fit?

Cheers all, there are more plans a foot into this year, over the winter I've bought some bits to go into the car:

- refurbished rear beam with new bushes
- Clio cup stiffer rear torsion bars
- 172 Cup gearbox with Gripper diff

Anglesey booked in June currently as the first one but may do something in April or May too so car will be out the lockup end of March for works to commence.

Cheers

Well update perhaps required, Cadwell park was going absolutely brilliantly, car was chipping on and I was settling into another day in paradise as of all the tracks in the UK, Cadwell is the one.

Then, coming out the gooseneck at about 11:30 ish, so third session, drop pin on my roll kit sheared and the car went fully Charlie Chaplin, ripped a bit of bumper off and skidded to a halt in the grass bank very gently.

Overall no harm done and the kit itself has been on for many years and many trackdays.

So, next step was removed and shift to the bridgecraft kit that's not bolt on, more intrusive but frankly built like a brick s**t house.

Onwards!

So despite moth balling the car this year after the incident, I spent some time fixing the rest of the front end fully before putting her to bed for the winter.

There was some more bent metal on the leading edge of the front arch and more towards the rear too, yehaww straightened out what I could and slapped loads of rust convertor then stone chip all over it. Track car so doesn't need to be mint.

Fitted a good wing in pretty much same colour from stock and job done.

Sleep tight sweet Prince, see you in spring.

Cheers

Ben

Smaller alloy rad purchased which should fit under the RS2 inlet a little better, currently the standard unit has to be shifted forward to fit.

Need to sort what I'm doing for a fan next, may go spall which seems to be the go to

Cadwell other week, mint day, car was perfect with the new roll kit and geo and was stomping round... Till about 2:30pm when as I tried a tight full maneuver into the paddock after the track went red flag...... Outer CV joint popped off the nearside driveshaft again and this time snapped the end of the shaft off. Managed to once again bodge it together and drive the 70 miles home though, cars a f**king trooper.

Mallory next in June.... New shaft before then!

Oh and new motorbike lithium battery bought, 980g for the old, 760g for the new one... Every little helps, flol
