They are aiming to concentrate on 1 lap pace this year so hopefully they can beat the Red Bulls to pole and control more races from the front!

McLarens car was based a lot around the exhaust last year, hense why at Silverstone, when the restriction was implemented, their car wasn't up to scratch. It's not suprising they have pushed the limits on the rules for this reason. However it will have gone through scruteneering, and allowed for the start of the season until someone complains. it's all about bending the rules in the pre season
