Mid-life crisis ?

Hi, just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I'm about to buy my first ever Clio, a 52 plate 172. After driving family cars for 17 years (my last hot hatch was an Escort RS turbo) I've decided to get a toy as I no longer need a big estate car.
Although the car is 13yrs old it has only done 49,000 miles ?!?!?!?! Is this possible ? The engine seems sound, steering is nice and tight, temp gauge didn't move from the middle after it had been running, and the hpi check seems to confirm the mileage is true.
My hope is that someone on here used to own the car and has recently traded it in, in the Birmingham area ?

Not picked it up yet, I can't find the V5C documents for my Astra, and have had to pay out for new ones to be sent.
Think the mileage sounds to good to be true ?

Hi and welcome.
Its totally plausible that this car has only covered 49k in its 13year life, particularly when the HPI check seemed to confirm it. Its very rare to find a low miler, but they do pop up from time to time.

If it all tots up with the mots etc then should be true. Make sure belts have been done as this is a £600ish job and your laughing.
where in Birmingham? I'm in Stourbridge.

I'm just outside Coventry, but car is in a dealers down Coventry Road (?). I wasn't looking for a clio to be honest, I was after a golf. But I saw this beautiful clio sport in Bedworth yesterday and thought I'd have a quick look.
It needs some tlc, especially a tear in the passenger seat. But will stick it through a full service etc and get a full detail done. Then see what needs doing.
I'm not to keen on the 16" wheels though, I'm used to 18" minimum

Dont get bigger than 16s on these, they look too big and silly mate, if it has the standard wheels id leave it or even the turinis they are lovely.

I don't think I'll being much to it for 2/3 months, just making sure its sound and looking the best it can standard. Its a bit daunting for me to buy such an old(ish) car, I'm used to either nearly or brand new for the past few years. I do miss getting my hands dirty though
