Mild steel sound different to stainless

Only a box so not bothered about warantee etc, just wondered if a stainless steel backbox gives a different type of sound to mild steel?

Mild steel sounds alot louder then stainless steel but doesnt last as long. I would expect to see no more then 4yrs from mild steel. Some one who lives down the road from me has a GTIR pulsar with a mild steel back box, its loud as fcuk. Ok if your into that kind of thing.

cant see any difference in sound between a stainless system and a mild steel.it all depends on the car,the silencers they use/design and who makes it.

its a softer metal and genrally dampens sound more

less tinny and raspy and a bit more of a growl really

tbh you can hardly hear a difference, and none of the average aftermarket ones add any power anyways :p
