My 172 from France

Here you can see my Clio RS1. As I said before, I've only tuned the engine with a remap from MD Racing Parts, a french Renault Sport specialist workshop (equivalent of ktec racing in GB). There is also a decat pipe from ktec racing and a full Group'N exhaust which suits very well to the car...and also to my ears

the sound is about 107dB@4500 RPM....made by the cops themselves in two years I've received only one ticket for noise so it's OK for me lol

Now i'd like to put coilover kit but i have no idea about what to choose...maybe GAZ Shocks suits well for the RS but they claim they are specialist for english cars (Mini, Caterham, Lotus) and i wonder if it's also ok for frenchies !!! (i hope so lol)

Kinda lame that you can get a ticket for having a loud car lol. Car looks nice. Great idea for an amp location. Ive been trying to think of a new location as i have no parcel shelf or rear seats so its on display in the boot at the moment. Might try this.

Hi there ! I'm coming with news

I decided to go to track with my 172 so I went to ktec store last week and I've bought almost everything

on detail :

--GAZ Shocks coilover kit
--Brembo Max + Pagid Blue + KTR braided brake lines
--Round air filter ITG Performance
--Rear carbon strut brace
--Powerflex for anti roll bar and wishbones

Well ! It's been a really really difficult choice because I'm novice on track and when I ask some opinion about what coilover or brake to choose nobody aggrees......

so I decided to make my own setup with the help of Ktec racing so I'm confident !

Next step will be a set of Toyo R888 tyres and later I'll change the rims to get Ultraleggera Black matt on 16' in order to keep the OZ F1 exclusively for track use.

Ktec announced me a delay of 4 week to get the coilover so I will post photos when I received everything next month !

Last thing, I'll be surprised to see that Ktec don't have a front strut brace !! I'd like to get an aluminium front strut brace so if someone has an idea ??? the only front strut brace I've found is the red designed by OMP but I don't like the red lol

I get the rear carbon strut brace from Ktec and it looks great once fitted in the car !!!

Hi everybody,

Some news about my Clio ! Last december I've tuned my engine and I got 186,8 HP and 217 Nm of torque...Two months ago I replaced my Group'N exhaust by the ktec supersport mk2 exhaust and when I go to the powerdyn....172.0 HP and 204 Nm torque..I'm very desappointed but I don't feel any lose in power (except below 2500 rpm where the big diam -63,5mm- is not an advantage.)

I also decided to put some gauges in order to prevent any damage on the motor ! After a lot of time looking for the best place to install them, I decided the best place was the radio...So the radio jumps to the glovebox and the gauges replaced it

Hi there !

Some news about my 172. As I decided last summer to start track sessions, I've made up a good chassis/brake package and now I just received my Pole Position bucket seat ! The Seat is very comfortable for my back even if on long trip. I also replaced the standard wheels by OZ Ultraleggera which are a very good upgrade I recommend to everyone because they are f**king light. It results in faster revving it's just astonishing.

Anyway, the last upgrade I plan to do is fitting solid top mounts. But I don't have any feedback because in France nobody has tried. So maybe some of you have tested the ktec ones and can inform me if it's a good upgrade to do considering that my car is about 70% road 30% track.

Alot of people do use solid top mounts on here, heard a few stories about rubber ones snapping with coilovers before so of your giving it gutty on track a decent amount will be worth looking into!!

Not considered putting the group n back on to get the powerback? Or was it too loud for track use?

The group n or clio cup accessories are too extrem for me and I prefer a softer solution because I also use my car for everyday use.

Plus, the ktec ones are not very expensive compared to the group N which I think are very expensive...
