My new toy

Had it just over a week now, and just put it through a full service today:

Ok, sorted it. My Renault specialist gave it the all clear today, the 49000 miles appear genuine. Everything is sound except for a few issues like trim, 1 injector lead is frayed, disc's and pads will need doing soon (upgrade I think) and it will need the cambelt doing sooner rather than later.
It also has an aftermarket exhaust fitted from the cat back, which will need a couple of new brackets.
The only other things that need doing are cosmetic:

Passenger seat has a tear.
2015-04-22%2018.10.28_zpsqjdnhnmy.jpg

Needs a new mirror

Headlights are cloudy as...
2015-04-22%2018.10.02_zpsmixsbyx5.jpg

And the wheels are shocking, but I've got these sorted soon.
I have added it's first bit though, just some new mats
2015-04-22%2018.10.57_zpsoechrpkz.jpg

Also the post office have got my clear side repeaters and I've got a few other bits on order and being watched on ebay.

First just to get everything sorted and make sure its good, tidy it up and make sure the mechanicals are good. Then will be looking at a remap, better exhaust and the usual filters (possibly induction kit). Thinking about getting the 98ron map (is that right) done for a start as it seems reasonable.

And possibly get it on some rollers to check what else the previous owner has had done ?
These will be my next job though

Can clean up the cloudy ones in my own time then.
And the bloke who serviced it today has 2 son's who race clio's, and break them. So they're gonna ring me when the have some trim bits sorted for me.

Sounds good. Looks like you've got non xenon headlamps there as replacements though. Might be worth looking into keeping the xenons. Non xenons are pants.

Exhaust and a diy induction k-tec style induction kit is a good way forward. 98 Ron map helps so I've read.

It's all in the handling though, make sure it's all in tip top condition with some decent tyres and you'll laughing.

I've just put some Federal RSR's on mine and it's improved it 100%

That's a novice mistake by me, I thought the lights were the same and it was just the bulbs that were different. Gutted

Yep, purchased the wrong headlights. So will have some for sale soon
Toothpaste jobby now then, and to try one of the kits

A couple of different grades of wet and dry then a cutting compound will see you right. Worked a treat on my ph1 lights.

Just be sure to seal them well or they'll quickly go yellow again.

car looks good on the outside, those seats look like they've done 149000! could have been a heavy person getting in and out! ;-)

Well, just spent 3hrs cleaning it. With my first ever attempt at claying, but turned out ok I think

Even got a little bit of a reflection shot, it looks crap because of my camera skills.
And got my led repeaters on, but still sure about them
2015-04-23%2017.49.24_zpsfxgo7693.jpg

Also purchased a headlight restoration kit. I'm really struggling to wait until May though to get some wheels.

I agree, it looks like a right fat barsteward has jumped into the passenger seat. But the interior will be the last thing to be done, unless ones comes up really really cheap.

Got a parcel from @Stopherson today, and fitted them straight away.

After:

Must say, it's one of the easiest jobs I've done. Except for breaking a clip on the inside cover\trim bit. I'll get them polished up tomorrow along with another new addition if all goes to plan.
Also fitted my connects2 ipod adapter yesterday so no more jumping cd's every time I go over a pebble:

Been out for a little drive today and picked something up off @davo172

Make the car look loads better, and I can get my standards refurbed now for winter wheels or track wheels (if I'm ever brave enough).
Next up is to get the cambelt done next week or end of May then just enjoy it for a while and look out for bargains, still got to sort the lights out.
Then it's suspension and brake upgrade/renew time.

Are they 17s they look big?

I like the look of them, I just couldn't live with the ride quality mine is pretty firm on 16s
The ride isn't as harsh as the 16's, but that might be because the suspension was raised.
But it's gonna be dropped soon anyway, might even risk coilovers with this car. Never tried them.

Not done much over the weekend as I've been down Skegness with my son for a football tournament, so the car has at least had its first good run. Some lovely roads on the way.
2015-05-04%2008.24.47_zpssvdyafjg.jpg

But did get a nice surprise when I came back, as this was waiting for me
2015-05-05%2011.20.36_zpsndiso9bs.jpg

Just got to decide where to put the sticker ?

A couple of little things done, so simple but make a big difference

New footrest and new washer jets, 2 easy jobs.
I must honestly say this is one of the easiest cars I've ever worked on

Well as I'm off work with food poisoning/viral infection, and can't be more than 30ft from a toilet, I thought I'd fit this:
2015-05-18%2008.05.33_zpsr0bb74ij.jpg

2015-05-20%2016.42.23_zpsxz7wh9nl.jpg

It's been sat in my room for a couple of weeks now, so thought it was time. I did try last week without jacking the car an failed. So jacked the car up in the sunshine today and fitted it.

Can honestly say it's the best £15 I've ever spent, transforms the front end. I just need to sort the lights out now and tidy up the bumper. I'll take a better pic later, the shadow from the car hides the splitter if I take a full pic.

Can't get a decent pic of the splitter;
2015-05-21%2016.55.44_zpsqzpb9pbb.jpg

And I've either got to get a new bumper or try and touch the paintwork up on this one. But I have given up on the lights, gonna let someone else do it now

And I am really tempted with a new engine cover I've seen, it's just whether I can waste money on something the car doesn't need ? But can't stop looking at it, and could go green callipers etc to match with it:

These came today, thanks to @Waltz172
2015-05-26%2020.21.00_zpscgfiqtzw.jpg

But I'm afraid they might be sitting in the box for a few months, unless someone wants to offer to fit them.
And I've also risked this
2015-05-26%2018.04.59_zps6ldw1wmg.jpg

But think I might get pulled ?

Your front tyre is on the wrong way, swap the left and the right wheels over. Be careful going over standing water with them like that, also mot failure.
