My Yozza'd 182 on the rollers.

  LY R26 #288
I swung by my local DynoDynamics rolling road today on the way home from work (as you do) and thought I'd get it put on the rollers.

Tbh I'm not sure weather to be pleased or dissappointed about the power figure.

Enough talking, heres the video and blurry iPhone pics.

I'm glad you approve.

I've got a ktec panel filter to chuck in and i'm considering matched inlets just to squeeze a little more out of it. :)

JRS182, thats about average, nice and smooth, hopefully if you get matched inlets you'll see some increases

i know different rollers etc make different power but my standard 182 made 175.2bhp at rs tuning. when was it last serviced?

Again average, 182PS = 179BHP book figure

Clio RS's never reach book ;)

Execpt 172 Cups... *Can of worms*

I changed the oil filter, oil, air filter etc at the weekend.

I don't have the acoustic valve connected either.

if you compare your graph with mine the tuner has added some mid range which he maybe did in expense of top end power. i tried a 172cup with rs tuner and hated it. prefer the 5k kick which you clearly see on mine

Why did you hate it? I'm just about to apply the rs tuner map to mine, and I doubt i'll miss the 5 kick, purely because when I decide to give it some beans it always seems like i'm forever waiting for the 5k kick.

I read through this earlier, and -J- had an increase in bhp after installing the RS Tuner...

i just think it takes the character away from the engine without any real gain in performance. it takes that explosive edgyness feeling away is the only way i can explain it.

i did hear theres a few maps to choose from and you could keep the 5k kick on an updated one. dunno how true that is. maybe worth trying one before ya buy and install it.

Would the decat aid to the smoother torque curve?? Aswell as the awesome sound ;) lol

i tried a de cat on my 182 and looking at them youd think there must be an increase but there isnt, just that whistle noise goes and ya emissions light comes on. maybe with a remap it makes a difference. my 172cup had a full exhaust on and that def made a difference, well it sounded faster anyway. lol

Right, well this is pretty interesting and would be better if it was the same RR on the same day but you get the idea...

Ive just worked out the following by looking at the graphs...

Kev182cup RR Results

BHP
4000rpm = 105
4500rpm = 120
5000rpm = 130
5500rpm = 160

TORQUE
4000rpm = 138
4500rpm = 140
5000rpm = 138
5500rpm = 153

JRS182 RR Results

BHP
3800rpm = 105
4400rpm = 128
5000rpm = 149
5600rpm = 165

TORQUE
3800rpm = 145
4400rpm = 153
5000rpm = 156
5600rpm = 155

Leaving aside the the fact they are two different 182's on different RR's, but taking into consideration JRS182's clio was lower on peak power, you can still clearly see that JRS182's (with the RS Tuner) has alot more power lower down and so much more smoother.

This alone has convinced me that the RS Tuner is worth it.

Well I have a yozza 182 system with decat so I'm sure if it doesn't make the drive better the noise will make up for it lol
Sounds really well in the video :)

im thinking of de-catting my yozza purely to get rid of that annoying whistle, how much louder does it make the car? and what about at m'way speed mine pretty much goes silent atm at cruising speed

youve missed a big point out though. look where his power tails off then look at mine. mine is holding a higher bhp for longer with hardly any drop off.

Thanks for the info Matt. Its handy to know it's about right.

I think ive gotta say i prefer it with the rstuner map on. Without it, it felt like it was so sluggish upto 5k.

^^ lol ive just seen a couple of your vid's on the yozza appreciation thread, sounds great which is what im thinking of doing so thanks for the vid's gives me something to think about

  LY R26 #288
Glad you liked them. Gotta say when I first decatted it I just thought it was too much. But I love it now and wouldn't change it.

  Renault Sport Clio 182
its funny because i have never thought mine is too loud ( with cat on) but a couple of my neighbours have stared or given me funny looks, but then again ive had 2 mk1 valvers, one of which had a straight through magnex exhaust which was well loud, so they should be used to noisy vehicles, plus one neighbour has a ducati 998s and a few other track day ninja's and my brother has a bmw s1000rr. so i dont know what their looking at tbh lol

Mine with Militek and remap at K-Tek was dyno'd at 164bhp. Thought this was a little low tbh :(

  LY R26 #288
Cheers for the positive comments their always good.

As said I'll put the ktec panel filter in and maybe invest in some matched inlets a bit later.

164 does seem a little low. As said a blowing exhaust or knackered lambda might cause lower power. Might be worth posting your rr graph so people can see if there is any obvious problems if you haven't done so already. Although I would of thought the guys at the dyno would of noticed an obvious problem.

I'll post a thread up when I get home on Wednesday evening. Friend reckoned that welding up the Militek rather than using the clamps could help?
