Need Reply ASAP

  02 Clio Extreme
Ok, I need an answer asap!

I have just changed my door speakers, and need to change the dash tweeters next.

I know I have to remove the top dash, but I want to know if I have to disconnect the battery first?

It didnt say anything in the manual

Thankyou

The only reason u disconnect the battery is so that the airbags won't deploy.

I would suggest to disconnect it.

Saves a lot of hassle if the airbag does go off... simple and easy enough to unplug the negative on the battery!

There was a thread the other day. For the sake of 10 seconds disconnecting it is it really worth taking the risk? If you are working near anything in close proximity to airbags I would ALWAYS disconnect the battery. Also wait about 20mins for any residual charge to dissopate.

I never disconnected it i just switched the airbag system off.

Just put the negative clamp over the terminal and tighten it. Dont wear a long chain or anything that will touch both the terminals at the same time!
