New Head Unit

Hi People - I'm a Newbie here, and I'm picking up my 182 with Cup pack tomorrow, and I was wondering how good/ba is the standard CD player in it?
Also, if I change the head unit, is there one that'll work with the display and stalk remotes, or do you always need an adapter?
