Been a named driver on a policy for the last year, and I'm planning on going on my own policy when it comes up for renewal. I've been told that this 'named driver for a year' doesn't qualify for one years no claims? But I have heard that some companies will count it as a year? Is this true? And if so, what companies would do this?

You may get an introductory discount based on claim free named driver experience but this is not NCB. NCB can only be accrued if you have a policy, in your own name, claim free for a full 12 month period.
