Nort east remap 200 bhp lol

  B/G 182 + PH1 Track
pm sent to you

If you are going to take the "challange" Make sure you visit a RR before then go back to the same one after the amazing remap. :approve:

Else i predict a massive trans loss.

Like it been said go to a roller that many have used on here such as paul, at Rstuning

Thanks Scott. Dont worry, Ive got thick skin. I havent come on here to belittle anyone. I certainly havent come here to calim I know more about Clio's than the rest of you (Far from it!) Tobe honest we are Subaru specialists and in the same light i wouldnt expect you to claim you know more about them than us. However, I came here, saw people slagging us off and thought I defend ourselves.

My offer is 100% genuine. Ive had a couple of nice PM's from people wanting me to try, which i have accepted (by the way, I cant aford to do loads of cars, just for the fun of it! ;))

And I strongly dissagree about us trying to CON anybody!!! We dont do that!!

Has anyone thought about getting this SUPER DUPER remap that could fúck your car
up ??? Why take the risk, when most of you know/say it cant be done ??

Sam

It'll only "f**k your car up" if its detting massively or so rich its knackering the oil film on the bores. Credit where its due these chaps do run a decent rally car so I'd expect them to twig either of the above - especialy as both will reduce the amount of power the engine package is delivering.

A PR Disaster maybe but chaps kicking off a witch hunt isn't exactly going to be of benefit to anyone.

Cheers
M

Induction kit - 4bhp
SS Exhaust with decat 10bhp
Vpower - 4bhp
Remap - 10bhp

I make that a total of 28bhp, that would make "Clio 210". It all adds up dunnit! So the magic remap should work!

Hi Chris (if i've got that correctly)

welcome to the forum firstly, its good of you to actually come here and state your reasoning, and obviously defend youself. i dont doubt that your remap will benefit the car....

but i would like to state that you withdraw your offer - is it possible for a remapped with IK + exhaust to hit close to 200bhp on a set of rollers? yes, but they would have to massively overread. readings should be taken from the wheel horsepower (the only true reading)

i hope that you stick around and come to learn about the RS clio, as obviously being a subaru specialist this isn't your forte, you will gain alot more respect and custom through us lot is you do so. after all this is a forum for sharing knowledge and experience so we can all learn from one another

anyway, just to get you started the 172/182 is known not to make its bhp from the factory, a strong 172 tends to produce 164bhp (135 at the wheels) to start with. custom remaps have been proven to yeild around 8bhp and similar lb/ft of torque.

to let you know i made 176bhp after i fitted cams, had my inlets bored out, fitted a decat and panel filter then a custom remap - be warned the 2.0 16v does not produce what it says on the tin!

all the best,

Craig

Eclipse Performace, (sorry not caught your name)

I am seemingly eligable for the challenge offered in my thread, but before I take you up on it I have a, hopefully understandable, concern.

I take your word for it that you can make a clio under the right conditions hit 200bhp, as of course you have a business reputation to uphold. What I am wondering is what do you do differently as this does not occour very frequently (at least on this website)

My other concern is that as your rempa seems to elicit more power from the engine than other remaps that I have read about on various websites, does this do any damage to the lifespan of the engine? My concern is that my car is primarilary a road car (the occasional trackday, we shall say) and I don't want to bring reliability issues upon myself for the sake of the 'magical 200' figure?

What would you say to that?

Thanks, Iain.

is it me or does a 182 mean 182 ps? which equates to about 180 bhp? but like f**k there are many 182's that came out of the factory 180bhp, even near it! my 182 with janspeed de-cat, cat-back system, bmc cda, jam-sport matched inlets & re-map made 183 bhp on jam-sports rollers. so either my 182 is extremely lethargic, or im missing a lot of power?! but my kind of figure seems the same across the board for these sort of mods? people claim they make 15 bhp with a chip on a standard 182, but thats based on 182 bhp? what bhp is a standard 182?!?!

I like this Chris guy from Eclipse Performance. He obviously takes pride in his company otherwise he wouldnt have taken the effort to come here and be slagged off by everyone.

Either take him up on his offer to settle this or stop being keyboard warriors. Its not doing anyone any favors at all and making us look like a bunch of kids on here.

Good post.

Come on heroes put your money where your mouth is.

He has......

^^roffle I'd rather give the guy a chewie than my car TBQFH.

Apparently someone spent thousands of pounds with them but they have no idea how much power it has. I'll pass thanks all the same ;)

LOL @ some of the replys.

''Take him up on his offer'' - No offence but if GDi, RS Tuning, Angle works etc etc cant get anywhere near 200bhp with a remap, how can some guy from the North East do it???????

That then leads to the question what is he exactly doing ? Do you really want to risk your pride and joy to find out ?????

  Clio 16v
i think hes estimating on a good exhaust and air filter only, not quite knowing how hard it is to gain extra bhp on such a tuned engine anyway, it may feel 200bhp with the throttle response being so good?

Hi Coatsey. We dont have a rolling road at Eclipse Performance, thats why I suggested the 'challenger' takes it to another rolling road and pays £45 for it.

I dont think the previous link to our 172 worked (im not so good with forums!) Its here... http://www.eclipse-performance.com/media-detail.asp?id1=5&cid=33772097
No offense mate, but with an exhaust and filter and a remap, on a standard 172 manifold and standard inlets your not going to get anywhere near 200BHP

Plus the spec on you 172 isnt as high as you think it is, a remap and a powerflow exhaust will not be 200BHP.

My car standard made 169BHP on a rolling road with a powerflow exhaust and a ITG filter, No way you are going to get 30BHP froma remap on a 172.

Bazzon's track 172 is 202BHP with ITB's

I think your dreaming mate.

Fair play for the offer tho.

maybe this remap really is that good and its GDi/KTEC/Angelworks that have been conning us with low figures!!!! lol

on a more serious note. fair play to the guy for coming on here and defending himself, despite his claims he has kept his cool and replied in a proper manner. offered himself up for a challenge. cant say fairer than that really. If this guy is really that confident and you can verify his maps are any good then someone should give it a go.

Its not easy to come onto any forum and be slated as much as this. yes thie figures are a little unbelievable and we all know its not possible...someone just has to go and prove it to him.

Icarus, love the challenge of the test bed but 5k is a little optimisitic! good insentive though, think id have a crack! probably reduce it to abut -200bhp but worth a go for 5k! lol

Hi guys. thanks for all the replies.

To be honest, the slaggings/abuse and criticism doesnt bother me. Not that Im some big brute who doesnt care what people think of him, Im far from it. Im actually trying hard to build a good reputation for our business in Sunderland (i know you will all be laughing now as you think this is a 'PR DISASTER!') LOL. If it is then fair enough, maybe I will have scared a few of you off coming here (which if i hadnt apeared on here you wouldnt have known who we were anyway so no harm really).

On the other hand, if one of you guys turns up here, with a nice little 182 with filter & exhaust (we can make a nice custom induction kit if you dont have one), your welcome to have a confy seat in the showroom, a nice warm cup of coffe and I will do what i can with the remap. (we dont manipulate the maps here, we are a V TUNE dealer therefore I send the file to them, with the spec of the car and they do it at their end).

Once its done, take your car away. As with any of our remaps, we offer 100% satisfaction guarentee. if your not happy, bring it back and we will either sort it or put your stock file back in and refund 100%. That guarentee applies to everyone. However, in this instance, like I have said, you get it for free, and if you want to get it on a rolling road and prove me wrong then go for it. If it doesnt produce 196 BHP then you dont pay for it either. happy days!!

So if your all so confident that it wont produce that then come along and have a free remap! Im sure if you do, even if it doesnt make the power, you will be happy with it, and no doubt come on here and say something along the lines of "Well, it didnt produce the magic figure, but my car drives a load better, is more responsive, revs a little harder and higher and all in all Im very happy. Also, those guys at Eclipse arn't so bad after all!!"
;)

Well done to you Sir. Cant get a better deal than that.

im sure the maps work well. Dont think anyone would doubt that after a trial. but your 200 figure was optimistic in the first instance but i think youve redeemed yourself quite well.

I know that if i wasnt going for ITB's then i'd be up for a free remap pretty quickish.

The guy seems very professional it would have been all to easy to come on here and start arguing but he hasn't. In my honest opinion i can't see it making 196 bhp but if there is a free remap what can be lost?

  Clio MK 4
if i'm right i believe my 172 is around 165bhp standard. i have a full ss system with bmc induction kit and even though i aint been on the rollers i dont think its given me any increase in bhp. lets say it gave 3bhp. so you say you can give me just under 30bhp increase with a remap?

Respect to Eclipse tbh

Lay off the guy and somebody prove him wrong rather than acting rock and slating it behind yer monitor

LoL if you're so smart you prove him wrong? Makes me laugh this thread TBH. Serious lack of logic. No one is slating the guy, they're simply saying the map won't make 196bhp. If you wan't to prove him wrong then go right ahead. The fact is that if the map is free then the guy won't make a penny. I don't see what's wrong with that asumption TBH. This is a public forum not a safe house.
