Nort east remap 200 bhp lol

Why do people keep mentioning transmission loss & how exactly is it relevant with regards to remaps?

Power figures are taken at the wheels, and a transmission loss added to get a rough flywheel figure. By using a huge transmission loss, one can artificially inflate the flywheel figure.

Ah ok, ta!
Is 140 bhp at the wheels & 163 lb/ft torque ok for an otherwise standard remapped 182?

im very happy with the fact you are offering to back your claims up but until someone takes you up on it and we all see posted rr sheet then the pisstakes will probably continue.

PLEASE PLEASE SOMEBODY TAKE HIM UP ON THIS

No offense mate, but with an exhaust and filter and a remap, on a standard 172 manifold and standard inlets your not going to get anywhere near 200BHP

Plus the spec on you 172 isnt as high as you think it is, a remap and a powerflow exhaust will not be 200BHP.

My car standard made 169BHP on a rolling road with a powerflow exhaust and a ITG filter, No way you are going to get 30BHP froma remap on a 172.

Bazzon's track 172 is 202BHP with ITB's

I think your dreaming mate.

Fair play for the offer tho.

I know this is a really old post, but just got a Clio 172 for some fun and was looking for local company to carry out some work.

So just some advice about Eclipse in case after reading this anyone was thinking of giving them some money..
I know LOTS of Subaru owners and not one of them have a good word to say about Eclipse of Sunderland.
Eclipse seem to have caused lots of people lots of trouble (search Eclipse and ScoobyNet for example).
Their claims about being Subaru specialist seem to be ill founded - so I think their Clio knowledge will be zero.

They have also been banned from advertising on several forums because of the bad feedback they received.

I would say stick with them if you want a Vinyl wrap, but I also heard a very pi**ed guy demanding a re-wrap when I was there...

So maybe their coffee is OK... (But not as good as MacDonalds)

Eclipse MotorSport = The alignment of planets MotorSport

By the sounds of it I wouldn't go to them with anything other than a planet IMO.

My 182 produced 182 bhp :(after it was done by superchips back in 04. It was around 170 before hand.

i never got a satisfactory answer as to why my 182 still produced 182bhp after spending 300 quid.

waste of money as all that happened is it revved a bit further past the red line and got louder.

dunno if remaps are more clever these days though?

Pretty much all the Renault Sport clio range never actually are the power figure they say they are.. for expample, the average clio 200 is in fact around 185.

A gain of what 6 hp from just a remap alone is actually impressive. These cars don't make good power gains with our spending serious money, I.e more than £300!

12bhp from a remap simply isn't going to happen on a 2L N/A engine. Mind you, you haven't been stung as badly as some, I overheard one lad in work the other day saying he'd been offered a 100bhp remap.

As above, Clios (well, except my 1.2 lol) never make book power on stock engines, apart from a couple of freaks. Chances are there won't be a noticeable increase in power, but driveability can be improved by remapping.
