Outer edge tyre wear

  2003 1.2 billabong
On my 1.2 16v ( 2003 ) the front tyres have started eating the outer egde, had all four tyres replaced christmas when i upgraded to 172 wheels, since then i have lowered the car 60mm on fk uprated fk shocks and springs ( 30% stiffer ) had all the alignment done when fitted and took it back a month later and had it tracked up again to be sure.

The rears are fine nice and even, hardly worn, but the outer edge on the fronts has worn away ( evenly both sides )

do you think its an alignment issue or could i do with some camber on the front ?

Been going round corners quickly? What are your tyre pressures?

pressures are at 32psi all round. yeah now you said it i might be taking corners a bit quicker ( roundabouts etc ) where im slightly stiffer and less body roll.

you think it might be down to me taking corners quicker ? if so if i was to add a little camber up front would it help the tyres wear more evenly ?

Pressures seem good, i would probably put it down to going around corners too quickly. Can you upload a picture of the alignment print out?

i never got a print out. work was done at twotechs in dartford, they fitted the suspension and done the tracking along with new top mounts and a dogbone mount.

would it be wise to get a laser print out alignment done and check camber values etc are correct ?

So do you know what the values they set the camber and toe to were?

camber isnt ajustable, i know they set the toe bang on standard settings ( i dont know the settings myself but they are reputable renault specialists so i believe them when they said they set it bang on, not within tolerances as they took an hour near enough to do it, they took it out on the road aswell to get the wheel dead centre for me )

Ok, well it sounds like adding some camber will help you out, I think you will need camber bolts but I have no idea if the Sport ones fit non-sports. :/

Yeah i had been reading around and thats the only thing i can think off besides slowing down a lot ( im not driving like a loon but where its has less roll now it holds the corner better, when you really push it it understeers a bit, i think thats down to the outside edge though )

i should be able to sort out the camber bolts when i have some dough, then i guess would be best to have a laser alignement done just to check there isnt actually anything wrong with the values

Camber bolts are like £20, may aswell get them fitted and aligned at the same tbh.
