Outside Temperature Sensor Fault

Hey,
Ive noticed especially since the weather has got colder that the temperature reading in the car is completely wrong, at the moment it is reading from -10 to -12 and it definitely isn't that cold!!
What could be causing this and is it easily fixed?

Do 197's have a little nipple poking on the underside of the nearside wing mirror? If there anything like the temps sensors on 172/ 182s they just need replacing as they are useless
