Phase 1 172 wheel choice

Hi All,

Just bought a Phase 1 172 and looking to get ideally 16" wheels for it but now considering 17". Not so worried about the look, more about cornering and steering feel. What differences would there be between a 16" wheel with 205/45/16 tyres and a 17" wheel with 205/40/17 tyres? What would be best for what im looking for?

If it's the steering etc you're worried about, keep with the 15's mate.

ok mate thankyou. but would it not help having 205 tyres rather than 192 and would the lower profile not give any sharper steering at all? Only going on what ive heard from people who claim (and probably arent) in the know!

Mine on 15s (standard OZ's) was great .. 16" ultraleggeras was a little 'tramliney' but just about bearable being uber light wheels... driven a friends with 17s on and DO NOT WANT.

Stick to 15s ! Cheap (but still decent!) tyres too...

ok mate, thanks for the info. saves having to spend out on a new set of wheels! remap time i reckon!
