PMS Low Temperature Thermostats

I saw these low temp thermostats for the 172/182 advertised on the PMS website. The info states that they open at 75C instead of 90C, and allows the engine to "produces maximum bhp. "

Is anyone using one of these thermostats, and does it make any difference? Are there any downsides like reduced fuel economy?

I would be interested to here if they are worth swapping to instead of running standard.

Fair enough! I have seen these listed on build threads, but there's very little other information.

If it's a standard car, the ecu will run the car richer as it thinks it is colder, to try and get it up to temp.

That could ruin your cat.

I'm not sure what other effects it will have on the engine.

How does this work with the 'cold limiter'? What coolant temp does that need to switch off?
