So someone else is detailing it first then you just want to keep on top of it?

Okay, my list.

Shampoo: Dodo Juice Born to be mild... http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo-juice/dodo-juice-born-to-be-mild-shampoo-250ml/prod_490.html
Washmitt: Euro washmitt... http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/eurow-sheepskin-wash-mitt/prod_452.html
Drying towel: Miracle dryer... http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/miracle-dryer-ultra-plush-25-x-36-/prod_362.html

Now i'd go for a pre-wax cleanser here as the car will already have been detailed.

By hand: I'd do it by hand using a MF applicator and it'll remove all old wax and draw out any dirt on the paint and leave a perfect base for your next steps.
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/werkstat-prime-carnauba-cat9.html Prime Carnuba (due to your paint being flat red)

Glaze after that, by machine if you can : Red moose glaze... http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/glazes/clearkote-red-moose-glaze/prod_118.html

There are a million glazes I could recommend as I love them and pre-wax cleansers.

Now the finale! The wax. It's a toughy as there is a lot to pick from. JD might recommend Carnuba jet but on Red i'd rather a nice wax, it'll leave the car dripping wet.

Decent budget... Raceglaze 55 (£60) http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/raceglaze-signature-series-55-cat13.html Will last up to 6 months and has a higher Carnuba content than £200+ waxes.

More realistic budget... Toughy as you'll want decent durability like the RG will give you so Vics Concours is too "summery" imo. Hmmm i'm genuinely stuck without recommending something basic like HD or 476 or megs. And I wouldn't apply them to my Trophy.

Anyway pick up some Z6 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/zaino/z-6-ultra-clean-gloss-enhancer-spray/prod_469.html The best wipe down product on the market imo. After a wash and dry it'll bring back that just waxed look weeks after the wax has been applied.

You could also go for something like Z8 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/zaino/zaino-z-8-grand-finale-spray-seal/prod_471.html to apply aswell as Z6 during washes, it'll keep the protection topped up maybe after 2/3 washes start using that.

I'll have a think about the tighter budget LSP. See if JD can help me out!

Hope that helps mate. Obviously you'll need applicators, brushes, towels ect...!

My god i'm sad! It's an expensive hobbie!

Lol I was about to post;

"Hai.

Detailing wise, let's start from the beginning. If someone else is going to detail it for you, I would presume that means a machine polish/paint correction."

Got that far then you emailed Kevings!

It's hard starting from the beginning to be fair.

No point recommending Tardis, clay, Ironx! Rotary then death if someone else if doing all the "crap" work.

You get to reap the rewards with the easy bits.

That's how I ended up buying it! After 4 different QD's, now I wouldn't buy anything other than Z6.

Oh, forgot to mention, Gally, used Carnauba Glos on the bonnet and wings after the second weekend wash... epic as a simple QD. Love it. YISH IS A KEEPER!

Lancs Trophy, can't really add to the above fella! Your wheels are the only thing I would add to. They will be sealed, or should be, by the detailer. So the same method should apply as to your paint work. Warm soapy water with a nice wheel mitt and safe wheel brushes.

Wheels are JD's area! Sealant wh0re.

What about LSP JD?

For what, bodywork? I would presume the detailer in question (who is it btw Lancs Trophy? Anyone we know?) should base their choice on the client. If they asked me, I'd say looks over durability. If they asked my sister (no pics) she'd say durability...

Lancs, how often does the car get washed/wax topped up?

I think he wants you!

As said it depends what he's looking for really.
