Program to check broadband circuits

So have a program called nmap at work which is good wee tool.
Customised it to basically ping customers routers to see if the broadband circuit is up.

Anyone else use anything else that reports or shows status of broadband circuits?

I use The Dude here to ping the stuff in our data centre.
