Project 172 **** ITB'S - 204bhp *** Redline Featured ***

Re: Project 172 ****

fook knows why, but decided to fit my inlets tonight, just finished.

What a ball ache. There on though, no piccies as my battery in the camera died.

Only took it for a quick spin round the block, didnt go above 4k though as it was still cold.

Will give it a good test tommorow :)

Re: Project 172 ****

Update

Fitted new brake ducts today :)

First of all had to create a hole in the wheel arch for the duct

Then with my weapon of choice

and the green tape in the background

I began to bond the ducting to the fog light covers

Left dry for a bit, then fitted to car - Carbon cannister was moved slightly to allow enough room
1080.jpg

Process was repeated for the other side, however the horns were in the way.

So using the existing bracket, i bent it, and relocated the horns to allow room for the ducting
1087.jpg

Note the existing ducting from the front grill to the air filter in the way a little aswell.

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 3

great job with the ducting but the aluminium looks terrible, logical thinking but poor job, get some decent deflectors made. also if that ever came loose, say bye bye to your tyres! make them out of perspex or some form of plastic, carbon would be cool :)

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 3

Question! How have you managed to route your CAF (the one in the lower grill)

I can see from one pic where it goes but when I tried to route mine there I couldnt seem to get it to the lower grill :(

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 3

i made my deflectors out of an old safety face mask but like you say, no one can see them anyway. theres a pic in my old project thread i think.

i didnt think i was going to like the sound of the exhaust at all but just watched that video and it sounds great, my stealth is on its way out so may look into the same as yours

Tested on all JMS cars to over 130MPH at Snetterton with out failure

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 3

Might see how they last, cant grumble for £5 for 500mmx500mm of alluminium.

If they break at least its weak and will just bend very easily against the tyre :)

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 4 - Air filter located cup racer style ;)

nice big gap under the bonnet now, get another cold air feed to it

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 4 - Air filter located cup racer style ;)

Yeh, shed loads more room now. Wanted to see what the filter would be like that way, and it doesn feel loads better.

Top work!

This is my next "mod"... Out of interest how/what have you done to secure the ECU?

Just not sure if I will get the same fitment with the Ph-1 throttle body!?

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 4 - Air filter located cup racer style ;)

Its secured using the old hole where the battery bracket went :) You can just see the bolt under the junction box i used for the existing wires. Solid as a rock.

Can feel the difference without the big battery upfront, feels alot more stable.

Re: Project 172 **** Update page 4 - Air filter located cup racer style ;)

Looks like a nice fit under the seat!

How much was the battery?
