Rear Brake pads 'wearing thin' (MOT advisory)

Had my MOT last week and there was an advisory that the rear brake pads were wearing thin. However when I had a good look at them they seem to be not even half worn? Is this right to flag them up on an MOT so early? Is it advisable to change them fairly soon?

Car is a 182 trophy and only on 30k.

New they only have 6mm on them - loads of life left in them and all Renaults with this rear calliper setup seem to get picked up on this... nothing to worry about.

I had renault tell one of my customers that his front pads were "70% worn"

they were less than 24hours old, the service manager and tech got a right mouthful off me, w*****s
