Rear brake "pin"

  Clio 182
Hiya,

I've changed the rear discs and pads on my ph1 172 today.
Was an easy job.

One side of the caliper didn't have a "pin" that holds the piece of metal that slides out to release the pads.

How important is this pin?

not sure what Renault might call it; they might not sell them seperately either - probably only as a kit or with the pads

you can buy kits over the counter from High St parts stockists - they generally include the bar, retaining clip and the pad springs - might be a cheaper option

a split pin or wire will be fine though

I think the brake fitting kit costs over £30 from the dealer, I paid about £10 from a car parts shop.
