Looking nice. LED lights will ruin it for me, though.. :-( Brand new original's would smarten it up no end.

Yeah mate they are :) very good quality for aftermarket.. The back parts didn't seem to fit very easily but other than that pretty simple to install too.. They the same as yours?

  Stealth 438'd 182
Haha no it's primer they're going black sapphire don't worry I haven't lost it just yet..

Yeah the LED plate lights make a big difference in updating the look of the car.. Doesn't look out of place either with the led lights

Rob im tempted to get one of these at somepoint, how does it compare to the Clio driving wise? 0-60 there isnt alot in it but the BMW is hardly made to race off the lights, more of a quick crusier I would say!

I'd tend to agree with that.. They are completely different with their own merits.. From the passenger seat..:

The BMW has more toys more comfortable and doesn't feel lifeless low down like the standard Clio did.

it has instant power that certainly kicks you in the arse when you floor it.. A lovely straight 6 sound which, at times, you barely know is even running.. And of course rwd.. So potential to be a bit tail happy!

It's certainly a really nice place to be looks smart and I suppose you have a better 'magnet' in the BMW..

Dodgy sunglasses and a Bluetooth headset are optional extras as are the indicators..but parking like a **** is mandatory and in the owners handbook..

The one obvious fault I would say with the BMW so far is its SO smooth it obviously it doesn't seem as nimble and involved..

the Clio was just a scream and you instantly forget about its rattles and niggles because it is just so good at going round corners..! My 300bhp S3 had nothing on my 182.. The S3 was bloody fast but If I had the two again for a track day or a blast round some back roads in Wales I'd always pick up the keys to the 182 for the fun factor..

The Clio in terms of ££££s per grin is incredible..but I couldn't own another one unless it was a track toy..cause for a daily I would throw more money at it to make it look like my old one and it would be a constant reminder of the smash..

I'm guessing my old Clio would probably have been faster too but I don't know yet as I've only driven the bmw myself off my drive once or twice around 5mph to move it..

I'm still not well enough to drive properly but il let you know as I know there are a few people who are wondering how these two stack up..!

I should know tonight when I can drive again :)

Spraying the front up... Wonderful masking job there :/ ..still did the trick though haha!! Sprayed the kidney grills off the car sapphire black with plenty of sanding inbetween etc come out really well!

Got a load of different grade sandpapers and started at the 11 years of crap on the exhaust tips... started off with some 250 grit and ended up at 6500 and then finished with some metal polish and this is the results...

Cockin' a leg!!

Followed the guide on 330ci.net drained all the coolant and stripped the old stat off..

Below is a comparison of BMW part and the new bit.. Quite obviously the same bit and quality.. Completely identical.. Both have wahler written on..same part numbers and codes stamped..there is even a blank area for the BMW badge...!!

The only difference is the one from the stealers was 83 and the one I linked above was about 35 delivered!!

I presume you pay the extra for the BMW badge to be stamped on..?!

Yeah.. I love this its worlds apart and a genuinely much nicer car.. Looks better sounds better drives smoother and so comfortable! everything is well put together and seems solid.. but then again that said...

I do miss the Clios charecter.. I wasn't ready to get rid of mine in the slightest and if someone offered me a Clio sport running similar power to my old one cammed on throttled bodies or something I don't think I could say no!!!

Might keep my eyes peeled for such a spec'd car...!

If not I intend to keep this until I get some compensation for my injuries then sell it on and buy something jap and fast.. I think I'd also be looking for clio sport as a track project.. Maybe buy a broken one cheap rebuild and go for some decent NA power strip it out etc
