Seperating swivel hub from hub.

  ph1 172
I'm just in the process of refurbing some hubs as one of mine is worn where the ball joint goes.

I'm going to shotblast, paint and fit new bearings.

Is it possible to seperate the swivel hub from the other hub? I'm no mechanic but like to have a go so want to get clued up before attempting this.

Also does anyone have any pictures of pressing the bearings in or out that might help.

Thanks

seperate swivel hub from the other hub??? what does that mean?

bearings need to be pressed out/in with more pressure than you are able to apply.

Obviously I will be pressing them out.

By the 'swivel hub' I mean the bit of the hub the disc and wheel bolts to that turns.

Do these seperate when pressing out the bearing?

in order to seperate ali, you need to practically destroy the bearing.

i use a big hammer range of 3/4 sockets and a grinder :rasp:
