Sprint rubber protectors

Quick question I currently have some tatty sprint protectors on my eibach springs on sach setup ? is that to stop rust etc or do they haveanother purpose ?

Im looking for some new protective rubber sleeving if you can buy it ?

Does anyone know if you can ? where from etc ?
