Starter motor solenoid? Car not starting.

Clio 172 ph2 has been sat on my drive about 3 weeks, started this afternoon no problem at all, drove 3 miles to my destination. Jump in to go home and it wont start. Turn on ignition ok, go to crank the engine and nothing all you get is a single click from the relay. Someone suggested it may be the starter motor solenoid sticking?
Any advice much appreciated. Luckily i was at my parents and got a lift home. This is the first time its happened.

It will be the battery or starter motor, probably the starter motor, i have a good second hand starter available.

I gave it a whack with the wheel brace and joy of joys started, will be on its way out. How much you want for it? To be honest I would probably be best off with a new unit.
