Thoughts people?

Going to be getting some Turinis tomorrow, and fancy doing something a little different from the norm (silver/anthracite)

Clio Gold Turinis 2

(Please note neither are my car, I've just photoshopped them)

My main concern is that it's going to be very difficult to get the right shade of gold, there's 100's of slight variances and only a small few look half respectable!

By choice I'd get them powder coated but feel it'll be best to get them painted to get the exact colour I want, and if I did want to match the bullets for example it would be so much easier?

Lets hear your thoughts then people, and whilst I understand that it's completely my opinion, I'd like something which would appeal to others as well as just me

Many Thanks,

James

James i think silver looks good on the black,i dont like the gold look but we all like diff things, high power silver take a look at that or silver sparkle powder coat

Love that look, there's a guy on here who had a BG with gold cup wheels, someone link it, thing massively suited the car. Photoshops look good too
@steve32c

Edit. Think this is it? Not sure

Edit part 2: just read the whole of that thread I just posted. My opinion and all, but wtf happened to it :tired:

Anyway gold cup wheels look immense. Guy originally had them as a winter set, try that?

Thanks all, seems like Gold isn't a popular option!

Picked up the Turinis today, got them at a bargain price but they do need a refurb (which I knew before hand)

I thought I might as fit them...and I've got to admit the colour is growing on me!! (I'll also admit that I've photoshopped some of the kerbing out just to give a better view of the wheels)

Now I'm in two minds do I get them refurbed in the same colour, rather than going anthracite (Silver isn't for me I'm afraid!)
Worst is I have no idea what color code/name they are currently!!

What do we think then?!

Cheers, James

I love both the gold and red!! Silver on black looks good yes but everyone does it. Including me.

Keep them red, really different and works.

Do them a bronze like @jesus used on his trophy.
Hi.

Still can't make my bloody mind up on wheel colour!! Narrowed it down to the current colour, anthracite or possibly bronze (although very unlikely)

Just looking at the photos of the alloys again that I put on, it shows them as being darker than they really are - they've definitely got a lighter tint to them, especially when in the light/sun

Took a couple on the phone (kerbing and all lol) which strangely seems to show them a bit better :

Mate saw them today and much preferred them in real life to the original photos I sent him (where they appear darker), and he summed it up perfectly :

"If you want it to stand out and be different, go for the same colour again. It's the sort of thing which will catch people's eye more, rightly or wrongly.
If you want it to look really smart, and keep the clean looks of the car, go anthracite, which the majority of people would probably approve of more"

So guess its whether I want to stand out more, or keep the car smart looking haha

I have a black 172 (had it two weeks), I hate my silver alloys. There clean and look great and standard but there boring!
I have thought about doing the same either with the speed lines you have or buy some standard 182 alloys, and have them in gold with the gold bullets and maybe even a gold badge.
Now I can already see others thinking what a loser. However your wrong, some of the best cars in history have gold wheels. Also gold on black looks great proven year on year by lotus f1 team.
So I would say go for it. :tongueout:
